Clackmannanshire Council is situated in central Scotland with it's main town, Alloa, 31miles from Edinburgh and 34 miles from Glasgow. The Council has three high schools, nineteen primary schools, four free standing nursery schools, one special school and two family centres.
The council has a strong reputation for innovation and forward thinking in education.
Current priority developments areas are Co-operative Learning, Grounds for Learning, Curriculum for Excellence (CfE) Literacy, CfE Numeracy, CfE implementation strategies, Management and Leadership Programme (run with five other central Scotland local authorities) and Active Learning.
