Description The SMART Table is the world’s first multi-user, multi-touch, interactive learning centre designed specifically for early education. The multi-touch capability is based on SMART’s own DVIT™ (Digital Vision Touch) technology.

The table’s intuitive interface allows students to start working right away with text and audio instructions built into the activities. Manipulating objects on the table through touch is natural and easy for even the youngest of pupils. The table recognises gestures, so pupils can easily slide, enlarge, shrink or rotate objects.

The table comes with the SMART Table toolkit; a stand-alone application that runs on the teachers’ computer. It enables teachers to download and customize SMART Table applications or create their own content using SMART Notebook Gallery items and graphics and video from other sources. Teachers can preview activities on their computer and see them as they would appear on the table.

The software which integrates seamlessly with SMART Notebook software provides math-focused content and tools for middle, secondary and post-secondary school educators that enable them to demonstrate math concepts visually by creating, editing or graphing mathematical equations.

The software features an equation editor tool that enables educators to copy, paste and edit equations in a SMART Notebook file and a handwriting recognition feature that identifies handwritten mathematical symbols and equations. The application also integrates with Texas Instruments™ (TI) calculator emulator and computer software, which enables users’ TI calculator software to be launched through SMART Notebook Math Tools.
