Comenius |
 |
| Description |
 |
Comenius provides funding for partnerships between schools, colleges and local authorities across Europe, as well as for professional development of education staff. There are great opportunities to travel in Europe and share knowledge and experience with peers, which truly enhance teaching and learning.
Comenius offers funding across five key activity areas:
Comenius partnerships: Schools across Europe work together on cross-curricular collaborative projects
Comenius in-service training: Professional development courses or job shadowing with a European partner country
Comenius assistants: UK schools and colleges can apply to host assistants from other European countries for 3 to 10 months at no financial cost
Comenius Regio partnerships: Local Authorities, schools and other local partners develop projects with similar clusters abroad
Comenius preparatory visits and seminars: Schools can apply for funding to visit existing partners in order to prepare an application or for funding to attend a contact seminar in order to meet a new partner
The eTwinning programme (www.britishcouncil.org/etwinning), also managed in the UK by the British Council, is a great way to find partners and establish a link
You can find further information on all Comenius activities, including current application procedures and deadlines on our website www.britishcouncil.org/comenius

Global School Partnerships |
 |
| Description |
 |
Global School Partnerships (GSP) supports the development of young people as responsible global citizens by providing opportunities for schools to engage with global development issues in real and practical ways.
We do this through promoting creative approaches to learning and working together, supporting the development of educational, equitable and sustainable partnerships between schools in the UK and schools in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean.
Whether schools are just starting out or already have an existing partnership, we provide grants to fund reciprocal visits and curriculum development, professional development opportunities for teachers, and comprehensive guidance for partnership development.
GSP is delivered by a consortium of the British Council, Cambridge Education Foundation, UK One World Linking Association (UKOWLA) and Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO). For more information about the opportunities and support on offer go to: www.britishcouncil.org/globalschools
