Promethean has developed a new range of ActivBoards to provide a wider choice of solutions, and make it easier for schools to identify technology that complements a specific classroom style or layout, and satisfies budgetary constraints.
The ActivBoard 300 Pro has exciting features, such as integrated speakers and an amplifier, which are all designed to help educators use multimedia to full effect in the classroom. Additional USB ports also make it simpler to connect items, such as webcams, and help put a range of tools at the teacher’s fingertips.
Complete with ActivInspire Professional Edition, the ActivBoard 300 Pro transforms the classroom into a multisensory educational environment. The ActivBoard 300 Pro is also supplied with ‘ActivArena’, Promethean’s dual pen capability, which allows two users to use the ActivBoard at the same time. The ActivBoard 300 Pro is available in three sizes including widescreen. An optional upgrade is also available, giving the ActivBoard 300 Pro wireless connectivity to the computer.
The ActivBoard 300 is supplied with two newly designed ActivPens with full mouse capability and ActivInspire Professional Edition. The 300 can easily be upgraded to include speakers and dual user functionality via an ActivArena upgrade pack. |

Promethean offers two Learner Response Systems, ActivExpression and ActiVote.
ActivExpression is an alphanumeric Learner Response System that enables students to express themselves through text, numbers, likert scales and full sentences. It expands the potential for teacher insight and at the same time offers students the opportunity to use technology they use outside of the classroom – inside the classroom. When combined with ActivInspire, ActivExpression enables ‘Self-Paced Learning’, a new enhancement that allows teachers to pose question sets to the whole class and each student to respond at their own pace.
ActiVote is a multiple-choice Learner Response System. Use ActiVote to obtain immediate feedback on group understanding, encourage group discussion or facilitate formative assessment. ActiVote makes it easy to instantly engage with every student in the class and even easier to report on lesson activity and outcomes. |

Promethean has developed ‘ActivLearning’ (www.PrometheanPlanet.com/ActivLearning), its online professional development site. ActivLearning features free, introductory courses, including interactive tutorials on a range of topics. These foundation courses include instruction on the effective use of Promethean software and how to integrate it into pedagogy, along with advice on incorporating Promethean’s ActivClassroom solutions.
ActivLearning also features certificated courses, which help teachers establish a sound knowledge of the software and, through an on-line assessment, gain a certificate of competence, which can be used as evidence of continuing professional development (CPD). |
