Digital Creator is designed to develop talent in digital media and reward pupils with a standard qualification. It is available as an 8 unit or a 4 unit certificate.
Digital Creator can be used across the curriculum to allow pupils to learn and express themselves using modern media. Digital Creator is an ideal accompaniment to traditional office based ICT courses; it encourages a wider appreciation and application of the use of technology such as podcasts, video, audio, and computer animation. It captures the interest of a broader range of students with its innovative task based assessment.
There are no exams to take, work is assessed on line. The students save their work to a digital portfolio which makes monitoring progress and formative assessment easier for staff delivering the course.
BCS is encouraging Schools and Colleges to take up the essential training for their staff to enable them to deliver the course with confidence, recognising the pivotal role of staff in the successful adoption of this new qualification.
